With this strategic fusion, developers building on Bitlayer can send arbitrary messages across chains while preserving full control over their application’s security. LayerZero enables them to create, configure, and compose unified applications, tokens, and data primitives across 90 other chains supported by LayerZero. This, combined with Bitlayer’s full EVM-compatibility, makes it simpler than ever to develop applications in the Bitlayer ecosystem.

Why LayerZero?
Bitlayer is the home of DeFi on Bitcoin. But, in such a new space as BTC-Fi, DeFi projects are searching for solutions to support their cross-chain liquidity, security, and modularity needs.
LayerZero is an omnichain interoperability protocol that has facilitated over 137 million messages across 90 blockchain networks, with over 200+ applications using it for messaging. Universal Messaging: Any type of message can be sent and composed between chains, including arbitrary data, external function calls, and/or tokens.

Modular Security: Developers may choose from their preferred combination of 30+ Decentralized Verifier Networks (DVNs) when selecting a Security Stack to verify cross-chain messages.

Permissionless Execution: Anybody may permissionlessly execute transactions in LayerZero V2.

Unified Semantics: OApp and OFT contracts enable developers to build applications and tokens that work the same across every blockchain V2 has an endpoint on.

V1 Compatibility: Migration options exist for V1 applications. If already deployed on V1, applications can utilize the new security and execution model via ULN 301.

With LayerZero, developers can deploy an OApp natively on Bitlayer and extend to other chains, or upgrade their applications via an adapter to become an OApp on Bitlayer from other chains.
Projects looking to migrate to Bitcoin L2 or build anew here can integrate with LayerZero, spin up their endpoints, access Bitlayer’s endpoints, and along with Bitlayer’s quick start documentation can easily migrate to, or building newly on, the Bitlayer blockchain.
